Cardinals Post Multiple Podium Finishes at Seahawk Invitational

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Catholic men's track and field team traveled up St. Mary's College (Md.) to compete in the Seahawk Invitational.

Tim Sweeney posted the top time in the 1500m with 4:19.84 personal best. Tim Brown finished fourth with a time of 4:24.10. Daniel Ponciano logged a personal best 4:25.84. Matt Haugh chalked a time of 4:29.48. Richard Harrington raced a time of 4:33.95. Kamran Jagadesan competed with a time of 4:35.64. 

Calvin Hernandez and Marco Indelicato both qualified for the 100m finals. Hernandez finished second with a time of 11.11. Indelicato posted a time of 11.71. 

Josh Phillips raced in the 400m hurdles with a 1:02.12. In the 110m hurdles, Phillips ran 17.62. Nathan Chaney ran a time of 18.41 in the 110m hurdles. 

In the 200m race, Colin Matthews logged a time of 24.92. Gabe Stypul recorded a time of 25.04. 

In the 400m, Augustine Howard finished second with a time 53.19. Matthews recorded a personal best time of 53.44. Gabe Stypul finished with a time of 53.78. Brady Falcon logged 55.69.

In the 800m, Michael Brunet led the pack with 1:58.59. David Stango placed second with a season best time of 2:03.07. Shane Waring recorded a season best as well, 2:09.73. Joshua Leon chalked up 2:11.48. Matthew McCormack rounded out the Catholic squad with a time of 2:18.51. 

Mark Enamorado earned a season best second place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 35.01m. Caden Lopez reached a distance of 33.22m with his throw. Benjamin Warr threw a distance of 30.86m. 

Drew Madden took a first place finish with a height of 1.85m in the high jump. Quinn Brubaker reached a height of 1.75m. Charles Connolly III recorded a height of 1.75m.

Nathan Chaney posted a distance of 5.74m in the long jump. Brubaker posted 5.58m in the event. Adrian Villatoro jumped 5.55m. Nicholas Chang recorded 5.18m in the long jump. Anthony Escuadro jumped a distance of 5.04m. 

In javelin, Max Lindung posted a first place distance with a throw of 50.54m. Lopez threw a distance of 43.50m, a personal best. James Varellas posted a distance of 37.06m. Madden threw 34.00m. 

In shot put, Warren Gillis threw 11.29m. Varellas threw a distance of 11.24m. Warr recorded a distance of 10.69m. Ethan Carmichael recorded a distance of 9.92m with his throws. 

Three Cardinals competed in the pole vault. Escuadro posted a height of 3.05m. Matt Daley reached a height of 2.75m. Connolly recorded 2.60m in the event. 

In the triple jump, Chang reached 12.85m. 

Madden led the Cardinal pack in the discus with his throw of 34.70m. Gillis posted a throw of 29.03m. Lopez threw 27.50m. Carmichael reached a distance of 27.05m with his throw. Warr recorded a distance of 23.46m. 

Up next, the Cardinals will compete at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational hosted by George Mason. The first day of the meet is scheduled for noon on Friday, April 3rd.
