LANCASTER, Pa. – The Catholic men's track and field team headed over to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to compete in the Blue & White Invite, hosted by Franklin & Marshall. Additionally, a handful of Cardinals competed in the second day of the Doc Hale Invite in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Blue & White Invite
Nicholas Chang started the day off with a season best 12.04 meter in the triple jump.Â
Brandon Hancock reached 5.56m in the long jump. Chang also competed in the long jump, reaching 5.42m.
Augustine Howard ran a time of 2:03.13 in the 800 meter, just shy of his personal best and placed sixth out of 41 athletes.
David Stango competed a season best of 2:05.11 in the event.Â
Junior
Gabe Stypul reached 3.95 meter in the pole vault, a season best and landed himself sixth out of 17 athletes.
Anthony Escuadro competed a season best 3.20m in the event. Teammate
Matt Daley vaulted a 3.05m, which is equal to his season best.Â
In the 60 meter hurdles,
Josh Phillips raced a 9.69.Â
In the weight throw,
Caden Lopez led the Cardinals with a throw of 12.07m.
Benjamin Warr threw 11.69m and
Mark Enamorado was close with 11.29m.
Warren Gillis rounded out the group with a throw of 10.18m.Â
Quinn Brubaker competed in the high jump and reached 1.70m.Â
In the 300 meter,
Sean Owens led Catholic with a time of 36.90 and placed fifth out of 31 runners.
Emmanuel Olarewaju tallied a time of 37.29.
Marco Indelicato logged 37.39 in the event.
Colin Matthews raced a time of 37.39.Â
In the 60 meter,
Calvin Hernandez placed fourth out of 54 runners with his time of 7.13.
Romell Randolph ran 7.24 and placed eighth. Â
David Stango competed in the mile and raced a time of 4:43.68.
Shane Waring ran a mile time of 4:55.10.
Joshua Leon ran a season best 4:59.54.
Matt Haugh logged 5:04.32.Â
In the 400 meter, teammates
Emmanuel Olarewaju and
Sean Owens finished neck and neck. Olarewaju logged a time of 53.02, while Owens recorded 53.05.
Romell Randolph was not too far behind the pair with his time of 53.19.
Gabe Stypul raced a time of 55.47.
Josh Phillips earned a time of 57.16 in the event.
Randolph also showed out in the 200 meter, placing second out of 52 runners with his time of 22.94. Olarewaju earned a personal best time of 23.91.
Marco Indelicato logged a time of 24.10. Owens raced a time of 24.23.
Colin Matthews had a season best of 24.54.
Richard Harrington earned a personal best time of 9:33.36 in the 3000 meter.Â
Doc Hale Invite
Drew Madden competed in the final events of the heptathlon on the second day of the meet. In the 60 meter hurdles, the freshman competed with a time of 9.03. Madden raced a 2:55.36 in the 1000 meter to cap off the heptathlon. And to top it all off,
Drew Madden now holds the school record in the heptathlon with 4,187 points.Â
Kendrick DuPree placed third in the 800 meter with a time of 1:54.42.
Peter Winter competed with a time of 1:59.85.Â
Up next, the Cardinals will compete at the Widener Indoor Classic on Friday, February 13th and Saturday, February 14th.
