WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Catholic men's basketball team celebrated the 25th anniversary of the 2001 National Championship team, welcoming back several players and staff members from the team for a halftime ceremony. On the court, Catholic squared off with Moravian looking to pick up its second victory over the Greyhounds in the season. The Cardinals lit it up from the field throughout the game, shooting 53 percent as a team, their second-best shooting percentage of the season, to run away with a 97-69 victory over the Greyhounds.
Googie Seidman started the scoring for the Cardinals with a triple in the opening minutes and the squad never looked back from that point as they never trailed for the entire contest. Catholic had a rhythm from deep throughout the opening 20 minutes of the action, going 7-for-14 from beyond the arc to help take a 14 point lead into the halftime break.
CJ Ruoff and

On the flipside, the Greyhounds shot just 35 percent from the field as they found themselves behind 48-34 at the half.
The three point success continued to begin the second half with
Matthew Gorman knocking down a triple for the Cardinals first bucket of the half. With a 64-49 lead with 11:52 remaining in regulation, the Cardinals proceeded to completely take over the contest with a 17-3 run over a 4:23 stretch to extend the lead to 81-52. Catholic shot 6-for-8 from the floor over the run and went 3-for-3 from deep with
Alex Welch, Ruoff and Gellene all dropped five points over the run with
Jamie Ntiamoah adding the other bucket. The Cardinals held as large as a 30 point lead throughout the half and went on to coast to a dominant victory over the Greyhounds.
The win improved Catholic's record to 16-5 on the season and they continue to sit atop the Landmark Conference with a 12-2 record. In total, the Cardinals converted 14 times from deep which tied the second-most threes the team has made in a game this season. They also shot 48 percent from three which was the third-best mark of the season.
