All Four Cardinals Earn Bests in Mile at the Widener Indoor Classic

CHESTER, Pa. – The Catholic men's track and field team traveled over to Widener University to compete in the second day of the Widener Indoor Classic.

David Stango led the pack of Cardinals in the mile with a new personal best time of 4:30.28. Tim Sweeney also chalked up a personal best with his time of 4:32.17. Shane Waring continued the trend and earned a personal best as well with a time of 4:45.96. Joshua Leon rounded out the group with a time of 4:55.59 for his new season best. 

Junior Sean Owens earned a season best in the 400 meter with a time of 51.47. Emmanuel Olarewaju followed with 52.30, a season best. Mark Indelicato raced 52.57 in the event. 

Peter Winter, who raced 1:56.01 in the 800 meter, placed eighth out of 44 athletes. In the 200 meter, Romell Randolph ran 22.38. 

Michael Brunet earned himself a personal best in the 3000 meter with a time of 8:42.79. The freshman moves up the record books from sixth to third overall in the event. Joey Locke ran a time of 9:05.16. 

In the 4x400 Indelicato, Augustine Howard, Winter, Kendrick DuPree represented the Cardinals. The group tallied a time of 3:24.77. 

Up next, the Catholic men's track and field team will head over to Fairfax, Virginia to compete in the Father Diamond meet on Friday, February 20th. The meet will begin at 2 p.m., hosted by George Mason.
