Cardinals Draw with Drew, Remain Unbeaten in Landmark Play

MADISON, N.J. – The Catholic women's soccer team traveled over to Drew University looking to defend their unbeaten Landmark streak. The Cardinals were unable to convert in the match, but their defensive efforts awarded them a 0-0 draw to remain undefeated.

Catholic earned itself an early corner, creating a scoring opportunity in the second minute of play. Erin Doyle recorded a shot, hoping to give her team the lead, but Drew's Sarah Crowley pulled the ball in to collect her first save.

In the 22nd minute, Caroline Aponte gave her team another opportunity to score, kicking the ball to the low center of the goal. Once again, the Rangers' goalie made a save. Just before the end of the half, Katie Scully sent the ball high with the goalie punching it away to keep the Cardinals off of the board in the first half.

Reagan O'Mara tallied an early shot on goal in the second half, but Crowley once again tallied a save. In the 71st minute, Emma Antonetti added another shot on goal into the mix, trying to break the nil-nil tie. Crowley pulled in the shot, which was on the low left side.

When the final whistle blew, the score remained zero apiece. Despite not coming away with the win, Catholic continued to remain unbeaten in Landmark Conference play, moving to 5-0-1.
