4x400 Relay Breaks Conference Record, Fuerst Breaks Program Record at Towson

TOWSON, Md. – After a successful outing yesterday, Catholic women's track continued to thrive during day two of competition at the Towson Invite on Saturday.

The 4x400 relay team of Clare Marsh, Mia McConnell, Zoey Brown, and Brigid Byrnes combined to place second with a program and conference record time of 3:57.12. The time currently places them in the top 10 in Division III and edges them past the mark of 3:57.92 set at the Penn Relays last year by Marsh, Byrnes, Brown, and Emily Moehringer.

Madi Fuerst set a new program record in the pole vault by .20 meters. After breaking the indoor pole vault record several times over the winter, Fuerst placed fourth in her outdoor debut with a 3.40m mark. She bested Charissa Keller's record of 3.20m from 2022.

Clipper moved into second on the program's performance list with her 100m prelim race. She clocked a time of 12.56 to place 21st, followed by Erin Buckley who placed 26th with a time of 12.87. Clipper also shined in the 200m with a personal best time of 26.51, good for seventh on Catholic's all-time list.

In the 100H prelims, Edith Tomasek and Alicia Vo both had showings worthy of the performance lists with personal bests. Tomasek crossed the finish line in 16.52 to place 13th and remain in seventh on the list. Vo notched a 17.02 for 15th and came in at number 10 on the performance list.

The 4x100 relay team of Buckley, Clipper, Sarah Schumacher and Felicity Giampietro clocked a time of 50.00 to place sixth. The time is the eighth fastest in program history.

McConnell added another notable performance as she raced to a new PR time of 1:00.01 in the 400 to take over eighth place on the all-time list.
