WASHINGTON, D.C. -
Sean Neylon drilled five threes to score a game-high 17 points as Catholic (19-3, 14-1) defeated Juniata (1-20, 1-14) 75-45 on Tuesday afternoon in the DuFour Center.
The Cardinals knocked down 11 threes in the game and held the Eagles to just five-of-32 shooting from inside-the-arc in the winning effort.
Juniata got off to a strong start, taking an 11-5 lead with 14:12 left in the opening half as William Littles, Jr. nailed a three-point try. Catholic responded quickly with a three-pointer from
CJ Ruoff and a layup from
Brian Herbert, pulling within one. The Cardinals pulled ahead for good with 8:26 to play in the first as Neylon knocked down a triple to start an 11-0 run. Now leading 27-16 with 4:11 remaining in the first half after a
Jamie Ntiamoah layup, Catholic allowed a three to let Juniata pull within eight, but the Cardinals ended the half on a 9-0 run to take a 36-19 lead.
The lead reached 21 with 18:59 left in the contest as Neylon canned another shot from deep and it was smooth sailing from there as the Cardinals never led by less than 20 over the final 17:15. The Cardinals led by as many as 35 in the second half, taking a 62-37 lead on an Ntiamoah layup on the fast break.

- Neylon continued his hot shooting season, knocking down five three-pointers on eight attempts to move into sixth in Catholic single-season history with 80 makes from distance. His 50.3 percentage from distance would currently place him fourth in single-season program history. Neylon in just three seasons is now 62 points shy of 1,000 as a Cardinal.
- Ntiamoah was a stud inside for Catholic, scoring 14 points and grabbing six boards in less than 20 minutes of action. The junior was seven-of-10 from the field as he reached double digits for the 12th time this season.
- Andrew Nields knocked down a three in the second half, marking his first career field goal. He scored his first career point on Saturday versus Scranton.
- Catholic is now 26-13 against Juniata since joining the Landmark Conference in the 2007-08 season. The Cardinals have won four straight and eight-of-10 against the Eagles.
Catholic will travel to Drew on Saturday with its 19-game road win streak on the line.
