TOWSON, Md. — The Catholic football team had six players named to the All-Landmark Conference teams for their play this season, it was announced today. The Cardinals had four players selected to the second team and two earned honorable mention All-Landmark.
Daequan Harvin,
Ben Ciesielski,
Evan Chromy and
Lawson Haylock were all represented on the All-Landmark Second Team, while
Matt Ragusa and
Andrew Tabor were honorable mention selections.
Harvin and Ciesielski both represented the offense on the All-Landmark Second team as a running back and offensive lineman respectively. Harvin finished fifth in the conference in rushing yards this season with 491 while averaging five yards per carry with three touchdowns on the ground. He also hauled in 10 passes for 107 yards over the season. For the second consecutive season, Ciesielski started all 10 games on the offensive line and he is now a two-time All-Landmark Second Team selection.
Chromy and Haylock were the two members of the defense to earn second team honors with Chromy doing so at linebacker. In his first year with the program, Chromy led the team in tackles totalling 74 with nine tackles for loss and two sacks. He finished seventh in the conference in both tackles and TFL's. Haylock earned a spot as a defensive lineman on the second team after he finished the season with career-highs in tackles (30), TFL's (6.5), sacks (2.5) and forced fumbles (3). His three forced fumbles finished ranked 25th in the country.
The two honorable mention selections were Ragusa on the defensive line and Tabor as a return specialist. Ragusa made 15 tackles, 5.5 of which were for loss, and 2.5 sacks while playing defensive tackle this season. Tabor was the lead returner for the Cardinals in both kick and punt returns this year, collecting 697 combined return yards which led the conference as was ninth in the country.
