Catholic Celebrates Senior Day Against Lycoming

WASHINGTON, D.C.  – The Catholic football team celebrated senior day on Saturday afternoon in its final home contest of the season against Lycoming. The Cardinals honored all 21 seniors who are graduating this upcoming spring prior to the game. The Warriors offense found a groove in the first half to take a 24-6 lead into the halftime that they would build on the second half to defeat the Cardinals 38-12.

The Cardinals started the game off with a bang on the opening drive of the game on the opening drive going on an eight play, 68 yard drive to take a 6-0 lead. Daequan Harvin kick started the drive with a 21 yard run to move into Lycoming territory. Charles Gulbin completed a pass to Andrew Tabor for a 26 yard play a few snaps later to set up first and goal at the one. The Cardinals dove into the bag of tricks as they snuck out offensive lineman Brett Agnew into the endzone and Gulbin found him in the endzone for the score.

The Warriors closed out the first half by scoring 24 unanswered points to take a three score lead into the halftime break. They had a chance to add a field goal in the final seconds of the half, but the 44 yard attempt did not have the distance to go in.
