WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Catholic field hockey traveled to Wilkes-Barre, Pa. to take Wilkes and fell 3-2 in overtime.
Both Catholic and Wilkes appeared to be evenly matched from the start of the game. In the 3rd minute of the game, Catholic's goalie
Ella Bowman collected a save off of a shot from Wilkes' Maddie Karp.
Caroline Cristella collected her second defensive save of the season just after a shot from Taylor Bower.Â
In the second quarter, the Cardinals found a way to put themselves on the board.

Katie Flynn, who then drove the ball to the back of the cage to collect her first goal of the season. In the final minute of the quarter, the Colonels evened the score with a goal from Karp, assisted by Lydia Keppel.
Wilkes pulled ahead in the 10th minute of the 3rd quarter with Emma Lautenbacher driving the ball past Bowman. Catholic's
Tess Hake tried to even the score once again as the time dwindled down in the third quarter, getting 3 shots off in the final minute.
Hake delivered the equalizer in the last minute of the fourth quarter, forcing the game to overtime.
In the 7 minute of sudden-death overtime, Wilkes' Taylor Bower scored to end the game from an assist by Morgan Hermanofski.
Despite falling to Wilkes, Catholic came away with a season high 6 points and 2 assists.
Up next, the Cardinals will travel to Williamsport, Pa. to take on Lycoming on Monday, October 13th at 4 p.m. in a conference matchup.
