LANCASTER, Pa. – The Catholic men's track & field team traveled to Franklin & Marshall for the Coach I Invite on Saturday. Several Cardinals clocked personal records and moved up on the program's all-time performance list.
The field events were highlighted by
Alicia Vo, Ciara Donegan and
Edith Tomasek. Vo placed fifth in the high jump with a personal record of 10.47m. Her mark moved her into a tie for sixth on the performance list. Tomasek also recorded a personal record on the day with a 1.42m mark in the high jump. Additionally, she placed sixth in the triple jump with a 10.02m mark. Donegan snagged a runner-up finish in the shot up with a 11.74m mark.
Vo continued her impressive outing with a ninth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdle prelims, clocking a time of 9.86 seconds to move up to fifth in the record books.
Brigid Byrnes qualified for the 60-meter dash final with a time of 8.20 seconds, moving her into fifth all time.
Catherine Egan joined Byrnes on the list and now ranks seventh all time with a 8.21.
Erin Buckley and
Megan Burns raced in the event as well with times of 8.23 and 8.25 respectively for 10th and 11th.
Clare Marsh continued her stellar season with a second-place finish in the 400-meter race. She crossed the finish line in 59.68, just short of her personal record of 59.47. Byrnes finished just behind Marsh with a 1:00.72 while
Mia McConnell came in fifth with a 1:02.31.
Multiple Cardinals also ran in the 200-meter dash. Egan led the pack with a fourth-place finish and recorded the fourth fastest time in program history with a 27.10. Marsh followed in sixth with a 27.15 for sixth on the all-time list. Burns (27.70) and
Felicity Giampietro (27.5) finished 10th and 11th respectively.
The Cardinals are back on the road next week as they travel to George Mason for a two day meet starting on Friday, January 31.
