2024 Catholic Football Game Day Information

WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m., Catholic will host Capital in its first home football game of the 2024 season. Please see the information below to answer any questions you may have.
 
THE MATCHUP
  • Catholic and Capital will meet for the first time in the program's histories. The Cardinals enter the game off a 7-3 loss in the season-opener at McDaniel on Friday night while Capital will play its first contest of the 2024 season in D.C. on Saturday. The Cardinal defense was stout in the opener, holding McDaniel to just 242 yards and a single third quarter score. Carson Henry made 11 tackles and added 1.5 TFLs while Michael Hopkins chipped in with seven tackles and an interception. Sophomore Conor Jennings added four tackles and a sack as well for the Cardinal defense. 

TAILGATING
  • Tailgating is only allowed in one designated tailgate parking area for the 2024 season - vehicle access to the tailgate area is located at the northern most gate of Hawaii Avenue (Scoreboard Side).
  • To park in this tailgate area, the fee is $50 per car. This fee covers the game charge for all those in the vehicle plus the spot in the parking lot. A maximum of four people are allowed per vehicle. To purchase a tailgate lot pass, please click HERE. 
  • NO cash sales will be accepted on the day of the contest. 
  • The tailgate entrance will open three hours prior to game time. You will not be permitted into the lot any earlier than 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
  • Taligating may continue through the contest, but will conclude no later than 90 minutes post game. 
 
NON-TAILGATE TICKETING
  • The main entrance for Saturday's contest at Cardinal Stadium is located inside the DuFour Center lobby (off of John McCormack Road). 
  • There will also be a pedestrian entrance (and ticket sales) at the northern most Hawaii Avenue gate (Scoreboard Side). There will be NO re-entry at this gate. 
  • Coolers are NOT permitted via walk-in at the pedestrian gate on Hawaii. 
  • All other day of ticket sales will occur inside the DuFour Center. 
  • The DuFour Center parking lot (non-tailgate) will open at 10 a.m. and is first come, first serve. Parking in this lot is free, but tailgating is not permitted. Overflow parking will be directed towards the surrounding streets or the campus garage. 
CONCESSIONS/MERCHANDISE
  • Concessions for Saturday's game will be provided by Chick-fil-A. Thanks to a partnership with Chick-fil-A DuPont, there will be 2 10'x10' tents set up next to the existing concessions trailer. The Original Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and Grilled Chicken Wraps will be available for purchase as well as chips, cookies, and bottled beverages. Sales will start at 12:30 p.m. and will run through 3:30 p.m.
  • A Cardinal "spirit store" will be set up for sales on game day via the brand-new Catholic University book store. Official game day gear will be available for purchase on-site 90 minutes prior to kickoff and will run through the conclusion of the game. 
  • There will be a giveaway at halftime of Saturday's contest courtesy of the Catholic University book store. All those who enter the game are eligible to win the prize packs. 
 
PROGRAMMING
  • Saturday's event will feature the live game debut of the Catholic University Pep Band! Dr. Christopher Pearlberg's group will perform pregame and at halftime. The band will perform the Catholic Fight Song and the national anthem will be sung by senior Sophia Spencer. For more information on the pep band, please click HERE.  
  • Halftime entertainment will be provided by the Pep Band and the Catholic University Dance Team. 
  • Also at halftime, Catholic Athletics will honor its Landmark Conference Champion teams and NCAA competitors from the winter.
    • Champions - Men's Basketball, Men's Swimming & Diving, Women's Golf, Women's Outdoor Track & Field
    • NCAA Qualifiers - Women's Basketball, Women's Lacrosse, Emily Moehringer (T&F), Clare Marsh (T&F), Lauren Cerda (T&F), and national champion Christian Di Nicolantonio (T&F).
