HUNTINGDON, Pa. — The Catholic University men's lacrosse team took care of business against Juniata on Saturday afternoon, downing the Eagles 25-4.
Four Cardinals recorded hat tricks in the game, including Liam Hill who produced the first multi-goal game of his collegiate career.
Catholic got out to a strong start as Victor Rosado and Erik Aulbach fired the Cardinals into a two-goal lead 93 seconds into the game. Rosado completed his hat trick in the first stanza, with his third goal completing Catholic's 8-1 start with just eight seconds left in the frame.
Peter Donley's men did not let up as 14 different Cardinals found the net. Steven Dezelic and John Hadden joined Hill and Rosado with hat tricks on the day. Logan Farrington and Connor McDonough chipped in with two goals apiece.
The Catholic face-off specialists were strong as four Cardinals combined for a 22-for-31 on the day. Ryan Macksoud went 12-for-16 with nine ground balls while Jack Suchanek was successful at a 6-for-8 clip and Connor Baia went 4-for-6.
With the victory, Catholic moves to 8-8 overall and 4-4 in Landmark Conference play. Much is still to be decided ahead of the final day of the regular season next Saturday, including playoff seeding. The Cardinals will host Wilkes for a 1 p.m. start in search of a victory that could see them earn a home quarterfinal game, depending on other results around the conference.Â
