TOWSON, Md. - Catholic running back
Daequan Harvin has been named Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week after a dominant performance on the ground versus Keystone on Saturday. Harvin is the first offensive player honored by the conference this season and joins defensive end
Sean Holt as the second Cardinal to take home an Athlete of the Week award in 2024.
Harvin rushed 23 times for a program-record 242 yards on Saturday, finding the end zone twice along the way as the Cardinal offense came to life with 42 points. The D.C. native averaged over 10 yards per carry and burst through the line for rushing scores of 75 and 42 yards in the winning effort.
Saturday's performance marks the second straight game in which Harvin went over the 150-yard mark. Over his last three contests, he is averaging just under 161 rushing yards per contest while scoring three of his five touchdowns this season during the stretch.
With his 75-yard scamper to put Catholic up 21-7 with 3:03 remaining in the opening quarter, Harvin crossed over the 100-yard mark, totaling 126 first-quarter rushing yards. Harvin finished the game with nine carries of nine or more yards and six of 10 or more.
