TOWSON, Md. - Catholic head coach
Mike Gutelius and his coaching staff were named Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year while seven student-athletes occupy eight spots on the all-conference teams.Â
Prior to the opening of fall camp, Gutelius suffered a seizure and was rushed to the hospital. After many tests and doctor visits, Gut was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a serious type of brain cancer.Â
Gutelius underwent multiple brain surgeries and continues to undergo treatment weekly. Throughout the season, despite needing to travel to Duke University for weekly treatments, Gutelius made it to the sideline or into the coaches' box for all but two of the team's games in 2024.Â
Amidst all of this, Associate Head Coach Jonathan Rutledge and Assistant Head Coach Brandon Beech helped Catholic fight its way to a fourth consecutive season with a record of .500 or better, winning three of its last four contests to finish the season 5-5 and 3-3 in Landmark Conference play.
Ben Ciesielski headlined seven student-athletes earning eight spots on the all-conference teams as he was named an All-Landmark Second Team Offensive Lineman.

Ciesielski, a junior tackle out of Orchard Park, N.Y. came into his own in his second year as a starter, helping to protect the blindside of Catholic quarterbacks
Joey Gulbin and
John Whelan. His work up front helped the Cardinals average 5.5 yards per play while scoring 33 touchdowns on offense.Â
Cornacchione, a senior tight end from Mooresville, N.C., earns the honorable mention nod after 16 receptions for 191 yards and two touchdowns. Cornaccchione had a career-high 101 yards in a loss to Susquehanna. In that contest, he added a 79-yard catch-and-run, the longest non-scoring offensive play in Catholic history.Â
Gill, a graduate from Westminster, Md., grabbed honorable mention nods as both a kicker and a punter. As a kicker, Gill made a 43-yard field goal, was a perfect 13-13 on extra points, and handled kickoffs. As a punter, he averaged 41.0 yards per punt, forced 11 fair catches, pinned opposing teams inside-the-20 13 times and boomed eight kicks 50-plus yards. He booted his career-long punt of 57 yards against the River Hawks.Â
Hansen, a senior from Philadelphia, Pa., made it four straight years with a returner honor as he returned 27 kicks for 531 yards with a long return of 47 yards. He also returned five punts in 2024.Â
Henry, a senior linebacker from Port Jervis, N.Y., made it three straight seasons with an all-conference honor. Henry finished the season with 48 tackles, 8.5 tackles-for-loss, 5.5 sacks, an interception, and a fumble recovery. He finished the year with 3.5 sacks in his last five contests.Â
Holt, a junior defensive end from Kingston, Mass., stepped up in a big way to fill the shoes of injured starter
Conor Jennings. Holt finished the year with 24 tackles, eight TFLs, five sacks, and two forced fumbles. He earned Defensive Athlete of the Week and D3football Team of the Week honors for his performance at Lycoming.Â
Finally, Stillwell grabs his third career all-conference nod at defensive back. The senior from Annapolis, Md. finished the year with 67 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, a forced fumble, an interception, and four pass break-ups.Â
