WASHINGTON, D.C. - Three first-half goals propelled Catholic (9-7, 7-0) to a 3-1 victory over Goucher (6-10, 1-6) on Tuesday evening at Cardinal Stadium. Catholic has now won 13 consecutive Landmark Conference regular season contests, dating back to September, 2023.

Molly Romano and
Tess Hake scored for Catholic as did senior
Niki Micciche who continues to climb Catholic's all-time scoring lists.
Romano wasted no time putting the Cardinals ahead as her goal off a
Lauren Keast penalty corner pushed Catholic into the lead less than three minutes into the contest. The goal was Romano's third of the season as she made her third start of her young career. Keast continues to rack up points in her sophomore season as she recorded her seventh assist of the season and marked her fourth consecutive game with a helper.
Micciche was next up for the Cardinals, putting them ahead 2-0 with 1:32 left in the opening quarter.
Caroline Caputo played the ball in hard, finding Micciche who was in position in front of Goucher keeper Kate Bloom. Micciche knocked the ball into the back of the cage for her eighth goal of the season and the 36th of her career. Micciche moves into a tie for seventh in program history in goals scored.
Catholic's final goal came just over eight minutes into the second quarter as Hake had her initial shot blocked before before regrouping and beating Bloom for her second career goal. Hake was one of just two players to see action off the bench for
Rachel Palumbo's squad and the first-year player took advantage.
The Cardinals held major advantage in the shots and penalty corner department, outpacing Goucher 33-4 and 17-2. Bloom and Mimi Taff combined for 16 saves for Goucher in the losing effort.
Ella Bowman made two saves in the victory as she earned her seventh win.
The Cardinals have two away contests on the schedule to finish out the conference season, starting with a contest at Wilkes on Saturday.
