HAGERSTOWN, Md. — After one day of play at the Cardinal Spring Classic, the Catholic University women's golf team sits in second place.
On a wet Black Rock Golf Course, Ed Dolan's team shot a 332 (+44) to trail Le Moyne by five strokes midway through the tournament.
Three Cardinals find themselves within the top 10 after 18 holes with Lauren Wright sitting in solo-seventh after carding an 82 (+10). She finished her round strongly, registering pars of six of her final seven holes.
Lauren Lombardo and Brooke Smith have positioned themselves one back of Wright in a tie for eighth while Avery Mrak sits just one stroke behind the pair (T-11). Lombardo produced a birdie on the 447-yard par-5 16th hole.
Catholic's final point-scorer, Isabelle Seratch, carded an opening round 95 (+23) and is currently tied for 25th.
Annie Wright (T-22, +21), Tyler Zierski (T-25, +23) and Kaleigh McDonald (T-31, 104) all featured as individuals.
The Cardinals will look to chase down Le Moyne when play resumes tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
