TOWSON, Md. – Four members from the Catholic women's golf team were named to the All-Landmark Conference teams for their performance at the Landmark Championships. In addition, head coach
Ed Dolan was named Coach of the Year for the fourth consecutive season as the Cardinals brought home another conference championship on Sunday.
Brooke Smith captured a second-place finish for the second straight championship to earn her fourth consecutive first team all-conference, joining
Lauren Lombardo as the only two players in program history to earn four All-Landmark First Team honors.
Lauren Wright and
Gabi Courtney joined Smith on the first team and
Meghan Mullen rounded out the selections with a spot on the second team.Â
Smith finished in a tie for second, just five strokes behind Josephine Nguyen from Drew who was the conference's player of the year. She finished with a two-day score of 159 (+15) and shaved five strokes off her first round score with a 77 in round two. For the weekend she finished with 16 pars and four birdies.Â
Wright also grabbed a top five finish as she shot 83-82 over the two days to finish the weekend at 165 (+21). She totaled 15 pars on the weekend and added two birdies during her second round on holes eight and 11. Wright is also a four-time all-conference selection with this being her second time being on the first team.Â
Also finishing in the top six to be on the first team was Courtney who shot identical scores of 83 in both rounds to be at 166 for the weekend. She collected a birdie on the 298-yard par four on 17 and also picked up 17 pars throughout the championship. Courtney is now a two-time First Team All-Landmark recipient.
In her first ever conference championship, Mullen grabbed Second Team All-Landmark recognition after shooting 87-89 over her two rounds. She collected 13 pars in total during her round.Â
Dolan is now a five-time coach of the year honoree and his team holds the most Landmark Championships with five, two more than the next closest school.Â
