TOWSON, Md. - Catholic football senior quarterback
Madden Lowe was named Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career after a dominant performance in a 40-35 victory over Wilkes on Saturday afternoon.
Catholic improved to 4-5 on the season with the win and got a massive boost from the quarterback position as Lowe was efficient and mistake free. The Virginia native completed 40 passes for 352 yards and four touchdowns while adding 27 yards on the ground.
Lowe threw touchdowns to four different pass catchers,
Zach Williams,
Preston Jeffrey,
Sam Cornacchione, and
Nole Henry, while reaching 50 career passing touchdowns as a Cardinal. Saturday marked Lowe's third 300-plus yard passing game of the season and his fifth game with at least three touchdown passes.
For the season, Lowe has thrown for 2,283 yards and 21 touchdowns while adding a rushing score and 62 yards on the ground. Lowe has 5,630 career passing yards and 50 touchdown passes with the Cardinals.
Statistically, Lowe has ranked near the tops nationally in multiple categories, currently sitting first in Division III in completions per game with 29.67. Lowe is also third in the country in completion percentage, converting on 73.4 percent of his throws.
On Saturday, Lowe broke his own record for completion percentage in a single game, completing 85 percent of his 47 throws to surpass his previous best mark of 82.2 percent of his throws at SUNY Morrisville earlier this year.
Lowe is the third Catholic player to earn Landmark Conference weekly honors this season, joining Jeffrey and
Aidan Long.
The Cardinals will finish out the regular season on Saturday versus Juniata at 1 p.m.
