Grant Wicks and
Carson Henry garnered All-Landmark Second Team honors while
Madden Lowe,
Michael Hopkins, and
Malachi Hansen were all honorable mention choices.
Jeffrey, a veteran pass catcher from Carrollton, Va., put together an impressive final campaign in D.C., catching 72 passes for 871 yards and 11 touchdowns. Jeffrey's 11 touchdowns set a new career-high and put him in the top 10 in program history for receiving touchdowns in a single-season. Jeffrey caught a touchdown pass in seven of the team's 10 games while bringing in multiple touchdowns in three different contests. He set a new career-high with 177 receiving yards in the season-opening win vs. McDaniel. Jeffrey also had a nine-catch, 159-yard game with a touchdown against Lycoming.
The Virginia native also ranks highly in Catholic's all-time history, pulling in the fourth-most catches in program history with 189 career receptions. Jeffrey passed Mike Hunter ('99) to move into fourth in the final contest. Jeffrey is also fourth all-time in receiving yard with 2.576 and in a tie for third in career touchdowns with 29. This marks Jeffrey's third first team honor after being named to the All-NEWMAC First Team in each of the last two seasons.
Joining Jeffrey on the first team is Stillwell, a junior defensive back from Annapolis, Md. Stillwell recorded 55 tackles, added an interception, recovered a fumble, and broke up five passes in 2023 after shifting from cornerback to safety. Stillwell has notched at least five pass break-ups in all three of his seasons at Catholic. The veteran defensive back recorded an interception in the season-opener against McDaniel and also posted a standout performance against Moravian with nine tackles and two PBUs.
Henry, a junior linebacker from Port Jervis, N.Y., is a second-team selection for the second time in his career after earning All-NEWMAC honors in 2022. Henry logged 72 tackles in 2023 and set a new career-high with 14 TFLs and two sacks. Henry picked up at least one tackle-for-loss in eight of the team's 10 games. Henry also added three pass break-ups in 2023 and had eight or more tackles in five different contests. Henry had a season-high 12 tackles, 1.5 TFLs, a sack, and a PBU vs. Alfred. Henry is nine tackles short of 200 for his career.
Wicks, a sophomore tackle from Olney, Md., was a constant and steadying force on the Catholic offensive line in 2023. Wicks started all season at right tackle after moving into that spot towards the end of the 2022 season. Wicks was strong in pass protection, giving Lowe plenty of time to throw while also helping to gain a push for the Cardinal running game led by
Zach Williams who averaged 5.0 yards per carry.
The senior signal-caller, Lowe, receives honorable mention recognition after a historic campaign for the Cardinals. The nation's leader in completions per game, Lowe ranked in the top-10 in multiple single-season stats in Catholic history, posting a completion percentage of 72.9 (1st), 304 completions (3rd), and 2,651 yards (8th). Lowe accounted for 26 touchdowns this season, throwing 24 and rushing for two. He also ranked fourth-nationally in completion percentage and 33rd in yards per game while leading Catholic to a 5-5 record.
Hopkins, a sophomore linebacker from Shaker Heights, Ohio, earned All-Landmark Honorable Mention honors after leading the team with 78 tackles. Hopkins added seven TFLs, two interceptions, and three pass break-ups, improving his totals across the board from a strong freshman campaign. Hopkins recorded 11 or more tackles in three different contests, including a 14-tackle performance vs. Alfred.
Hansen, an All-Region returner from a year ago, battled injuries throughout the campaign, but earned honorable mention recognition as a dangerous return man. Hansen averaged 32 yards per kick return, including a season-long return of 52 yards in the season-ending win vs. Juniata. Hansen also added 282 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns in 2023.
