PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Catholic University women's rowing team put two boats in the Schuylkill River during day two of the Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday.
Catholic's varsity eight finished third in their heat with a time of 8:00.13, coming across the line after Marietta and Washington College. St. Mary's (Md.) was set to be a fourth challenger in the race but was scratched. Overall, the Cardinals finished seventh amongst DIII programs.
The varsity four competed against Bryn Mawr, Cabrini, Franklin and Marshall, Merchant Marine and Washington College, finishing sixth with a time of 8:35.82.
Due to graduation this weekend, the squad was extremely young. This was a great opportunity for the younger members of the program to gain valuable experience in a championship setting.
