Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. — The Catholic University women's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest to Gettysburg on Wednesday afternoon.
The Cardinals held the match scoreless past halftime but the Bullets turned the screw in the second half to put three past Ava Rieger in the Cardinal goal.
Freshman Ava Gregorio looked the most likely to score for Catholic, forcing the first save of the contest out of the Gettysburg goalkeeper in the 10th minute. She tallied two total shots and led all Cardinal outfield players with 80 minutes played.
Sophomore midfielder Sara Placide also offered two efforts toward the Bulllets goal, putting both on target. Senior Alexa Adelmann contributed 71 minutes of hard work in the midfield.
The Cardinals will return to conference play this Saturday when they travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to do battle with Moravian. Kickoff in Catholic's final away contest of the season is set for 4 p.m.
