ST. MARYS CITY, Md. - The Catholic University women's soccer team picked up its third win of the season Wednesday as the Cardinals took down St. Mary's (Md.), 2-1.

Catholic (3-3-1) is undefeated in away games this year, posting a 3-0 record.

The Cardinals got on the board early as sophomore Lauren Cerda scored her first career goal off a cross in the 12th minute from freshman Jordan Siok who threaded a pass across the box for one of her two assists on the night.

The two teams would exchange eight shots apiece in the first half with freshman Maeve Graham recording three saves in the opening 45 minutes.

The Seahawks (4-3-2) quickly bounced back in the second half as they needed just 90 seconds to find the back of the net and tie the game at 1-1.

However, less than nine minutes later, junior Alexa Adelmann scored her first goal of the season in the 56th minute, scoring off another Siok assist who found Adelmann on a through ball in the 56th minute to put the Cardinals back in front by one.

The goal proved to be the game-winner as St. Mary's totaled seven second-half shots, but couldn't get the equalizer. Graham stopped three more shots in the second and is now 3-2 with a .772 save percentage in five starts this season.

With two assists, Siok now leads the team with four on the season as well as a team-best eight points.

Catholic returns home to begin Landmark Conference play this Saturday, Sept. 25 when it welcomes Moravian to Carlini Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

The Cardinals are 30-9-1 in the Landmark Conference over the last six seasons, winning back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015. The team is also unbeaten in seven of its last nine against the Greyhounds and 6-1-1 against them against them since 2007.
