ST. MARY's CITY, Md. - The Catholic University women's rowing team won the varsity four race on Saturday to highlight the Cardinals' competition against St. Mary's (Md.) on the St. Mary's River.
Conditions featured an eight mph headwind and an outgoing tide.
The day began with the Seahawks finishing first in the varsity eight with a time of 8:21.83, five seconds ahead of Catholic who crossed the line in 8:26.73.
St. Mary's also won the novice eight race with a time of 9:14.68 while the Cardinals posted a time of 10:18.12.
Catholic won the last race of the day in the varsity four, finishing 27 seconds ahead of the Seahawks with a time of 9:20.83. St. Mary's crossed the line in 9:47.40.
The Cardinals will now prepare for the 2021 Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships next Sunday, April 25 on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J.
