CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Catholic University women's rowing team officially opened its 2021-22 season on Saturday at the 5K Head of the Chester hosted by Washington College.
Competing against Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference rivals Washington College and St. Mary's (Md.), the Cardinals' varsity eight came in third with a time of 18:15. St. Mary's finished first as the Seahawks crossed the line in 18:03 while Washington College was just one second behind in 18:04.
The first 3K had light wind and nice conditions while the last 2K had a head wind of 9 mph. Close to slack tide for the race.
Catholic returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 24 at the Head of the Charles on the Charles River in Boston, Mass.
