Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. - Catholic University women's soccer senior Taylor Porcello scored her first career hat-trick to highlight the Cardinals' 5-1 win over Marymount (Va.) on Wednesday at Long Bridge Park.
Catholic (5-5-1) scored a season-high five goal to improve its record to 4-1 on the road this season and 14-2-1 against the Saints since 1997.
Porcello, who was a defender her first three seasons, posted the team's first hat-trick since Elizabeth Johnson scored three goals in an 8-2 win over Goucher at home on Oct. 11, 2017.
Porcello leads the team with six goals and 12 points this season.
As a team, the Cardinals posted their highest goal total since a 6-0 win at Juniata on Oct. 19, 2019.
The Catholic offense wasted little time sophomore Jordan Siok scored the first of her two goals just 1:42 into the game as she dribbled past the defender and goalkeeper for an open net goal.
The Saints (2-8-0) evened the score 10 minutes later before Porcello scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 25th minute off a cross from sophomore Lauren Cerda.
The lead would hold until the 70th minute when Siok scored her second goal of the game and fourth of the season to mark her first career multi-goal game.
The goal was the first of three in the span of nine minutes for the Cardinals as Porcello added her second at 73:44 before netting the hatty at 78:50 off an assist from Siok, her team-leading fifth of the season.
Junior Liz Gorman picked up her first assist of the year on Porcello's second goal.
Catholic took a season-high 25 shots, outshooting Marymount 25-3, including 16-2 in the second half.
Senior Marykate Stack picked up her first win of the season, playing the first 45 minutes before giving way to junior Molly Krzywicki who had one second-half save.
The Cardinals return home on Saturday for a Landmark Conference contest versus Drew at Carlini Field. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
