Box Score SCRANTON, Pa. - The Catholic University women's soccer team dropped a road match to No. 20 Scranton on Saturday, 5-0, in Landmark Conference action.
The Royals (13-0-0, 5-0-0 LC) got off to a quick start against the Cardinals, taking four shots and scoring two goals in the first 12 minutes.
Junior Molly Krzywicki made one first half save in goal and was replaced by senior Marykate Stack after the Cardinals (5-8-1, 0-5-0 LC) trailed 4-0 at halftime.
Catholic was held to just three shots on the day as starting Scranton goalkeeper Amanda Steinberg made one save.
Junior Clare Nugent led the Cardinals with two shots on the day while senior Liz Gorman took one.
Stack made four second half saves while only allowing one goal against.
Catholic will return to Carlini Field on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 4 p.m. when it hosts the Gettysburg Bullets in non-conference action.
