Box Score WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America volleyball team has now won four of its last five games and moved its overall record back to .500 thanks to a straight-set sweep of Shenandoah inside the DuFour Center on Tuesday night.
The Cardinals used a well-rounded offensive effort that featured three players with 11-plus kills, led by senior Brynn Cooley with 12. Cooley rounded out her line with eight digs, two aces an assist and a block.
Freshman Patricia Martinez was just behind with 11 but also went for the double-double with 12 digs.
Senior middle hitter Amy O'Connor matched Martinez's total and posted a game-high five blocks.
Rookie setter Maria Gonzalez also went for the freshman double-dip as she assisted on 37 of Catholic's 47 kills and racked up 14 digs. She also was very strong from service, helping the Cards to multiple runs and totaled three aces.
Catholic heads to its final invitational of the season this weekend as the Cards play three games at the Wilkes Invite over Friday and Saturday.
