Box Score Tampa, Fla. - The Catholic University of America men's lacrosse team came back from their 12-6 Guilford loss with a whopping 15-6 win over Salve Regina on Tuesday, March 10, at the University of Tampa.
The Cardinals held a steady lead over the Seahawks, pulling ahead 3-0 in the first quarter. Salve Regina finally struck in the second, but were down 6-1 at halftime. The game grew close in the third as the Seahawks continued to score. Up only 7-6 at the beginning of the fourth, the Cardinals knew they needed to seal their lead. The team went on to score eight unanswered goals against Salve Regina, claiming a 15-6 blowout win.
The Cardinals offense was led by sophomore attack Tim Keith (King of Prussia, Pa/ Archbishop Carroll) and freshman attack Samuel Montgomery (West Chester, Pa. / Bishop Shanahan), each with four goals on the day. Senior attack Brian Keith (King of Prussia, Pa./ Archbishop Carroll) scored two goals. Sophomores Ethan Rodriguez (Miami, Fla. / Belen Jesuit Prep), Tony Fisher (Ardmore, Pa. / Lower Merion), and Connor Bruno (Babylon, N.Y. / St. John the Baptist) each scored one apiece. Freshman Jonathan Curran (Ridgefield, Conn. / Ridgefield) also put one in the net to total 15 for the Cards on the day.
Junior Harrison Holak (Doylestown, Pa. / Central Bucks East) played between the pipes and registered 12 saves in the competition.
The Cardinals now hold a 5-2 record, and will host Scranton on Sunday, March 15, at 1:00 p.m. in Cardinals Stadium.
