Box Score Madison, N.J. – The Catholic University of America field hockey team continued its recent hot streak, going for its third-straight shutout with with an 8-0 win at Drew on Saturday afternoon.
The Cardinals now boast seven shutouts on the season as all but one of their eight wins have come without its opponents appearing on the scoreboard. CUA has also only allowed three foes to score this year, allowing just five goals in 11 games and not ceding more than two in a single game.
Seven different Cardinals scored against Drew with sophomore forward Rachel Day finding the back of the cage twice. Day also assists on two other goals. Hayley Wright netted the gamewinner 12 minutes into the game, collecting her own rebound off a penalty corner. She also assisted on Catholic's fourth goal of the game.
All three CUA goalkeepers saw action in the game with junior Analisa Scott making the start for her seventh victory of the year.
Catholic held Drew to just one shot in the match while putting 25-of-29 total shots on goal.
The Cardinals continue a two-game road swing at Goucher this Wednesday at 7 p.m.
