Burmester Adds Another Homerun to His Resume During Conference Win

WASHINGTON – Paul Burmester tallied the fourth homerun of the season and his career in the top of the seventh during the Cardinals' 9-8 win over the Drew Rangers.

With today's win, the Cardinals advance to 20-15 overall and 9-6 in the conference.

CUA scored single runs in the first, second and eighth innings, while scoring three runs in the top of the sixth and seventh.

Burmester finished the afternoon with two runs, two hits and three RBIs on four at bats.  Brett Padula recorded three runs and three hits on five at bats, as John Palladino registered two RBIs and two hits on three at bats.  Collectively, the Cardinals tallied 15 hits.

Colin Kelly was the winning pitcher of the contest when he struckout three batters and allowed three hits in his one inning on the mound.  Chris Nee received the save, as he struckout three batters as well, while allowing two hits and one run.

Catholic will closeout the regular season with their final Landmark Conference weekend at Susquehanna with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 26 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and a single contest at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 27.  On Wednesday, April 30, CUA will host Marymount (Va.) at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. for the last twinbill of the regular season.
