NEWPORT NEWS – In the program's first NCAA Elite Eight appearance, the No. 17 Catholic fell 1-0 to No. 4 Christopher Newport on Sunday in Newport News, Va., on the CNU Captains campus.

Christopher Newport's Shelby Judkins scored the only goal of the contest on a penalty corner entry by Mariene Lichty at the 62:18 mark.

By the numbers, CNU out shot CUA 16-7 and the Captains were awarded 11 penalty corners to the Cardinals' 13.  In her last game in the game, solo senior Megan Comunale recorded for saves.

Catholic ends the season with a record of 15-6 (.714) overall and 4-2 in the Landmark Conference with their third consecutive Landmark Title and the program's first NCAA Elite 8 appearance.
