Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – CUA made it two wins in as many tries on
Wednesday with a 3-0 road victory over Randolph-Macon. The
Cardinals received goals from Taylor Elliott, Colleen Harwood and
Rebecca Lukaszczyk, and the defense limited the Yellow Jackets to
only eight shots.
Elliott got CUA going with her first collegiate goal 17 minutes
into the first half. Maura Campbell assisted on the
score.
With less than four minutes to play until halftime, Lukaszczyk fed
Harwood for the Cardinals' second goal of the day.
Lukaszczyk then got into the act, netting a goal at the 59:09 mark
of the second half, to give CUA a comfortable three-goal
cushion.
The Cardinals finished with a commanding 32-8 advantage in shots
and 14-4 in penalty corners.
Lukaszczyk led the way with six shots, while Katie Bertrand,
Harwood and Hayley Wright tallied five apiece.
Megan Comunale sent back five shots in goal to earn the win for
the Cardinals, while Yellow Jackets goal keeper Nicole Woodworth
stopped 20 shots.
CUA returns to action on Saturday, September 8 when the Cardinals
open their home schedule against Elizabethtown. Start time
from inside Cardinal Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
