Austell joins the Catholic staff for his first season in 2023, where he will work primarily with the defensive line.
A four-year letterwinner at Division III Merchant Marine, the team accumulated a 21-9 record and a bowl win during each of his four years in Kings Point.
Prior to Catholic, Austell coached high school football at South River High School in Edgewater, Md. He began as a defensive line assistant and defensive coordinator for the JV squad in 2021 before earning promotions to the primary defensive line coach and head JV coach in 2022.
He is currently a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve.
