Vogel begins his second season as a member of the the Catholic staff in 2023, working primarily with the team's linebackers.
Vogel began his coaching career as an assistant at Glen Burnie High School in Glen Burnie, Md., where he spent three seasons. He worked his way up from JV defensive coordinator to varsity defensive coordinator, playing a pivotal roll in improving the defense's point-per-game numbers by 27.3 from 2013 to 2014.
He then moved on to an assistant position at KIPP College Prepertory high school in Washington, D.C., where he acted as the varsity linebackers coach. The team went 7-4 and made it to the second round of the playoffs in 2016.
Vogel then moved to Morgantown, W.V., to continue his education at West Virginia University. While there, he worked a defensive assistant coach at Morgantown high school, assisting with inside linebackers and helping with gameday data tracking.
After playing football at and graduating from Bowie high school, Vogel went to Anne Arundel Community College for two years. He then moved to University of Maryland where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education. After a four-year hiatus from higher education, he began at West Virginia University in pursuit of a masters degree. He earned a masters in Athletic Coaching from WVU in August of 2019.
Vogel always knew he wanted to coach football, as he began helping out with the Bowie boys and girls club youth football organization while he was an undergraduate student at Maryland.
