Jimmy Speros joins the Catholic football program for the 2025 season where he will be working primarily with the tight ends.
Speros has spent the past two seasons as the Offensive Line Coach and Special Teams Assistant with Sidwell Friends School in D.C. Speros has also worked with Perfect Performance NOVA as the Offensive Line Coach and Assistant 7-on-7 Coach since 2023.
As an athlete, Speros was a member of the University of Richmond football team, earning a selection to the Football Academic Honor Roll twice while graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 2013. A starter at center for the Spiders, Speros was a member of two CAA Championship teams while at Richmond.
Off the field, Speros won the 2016 Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Delaware Golden Gloves Boxing Championship for the Super Heavyweight Division (201+ pounds) and the 2018 Virginia and North Carolina Golden Gloves Boxing Championship.
Speros worked as the Director of Operations at The Velocity Hospitality Group Perfect Performance from 2014-2023 and trained boxers at Olympia Boxing Center from 2014-17.
As a high school athlete at the Flint School, Speros was named a First Team All-State Offensive Lineman and was a two-time All-MAAC choice.
Speros comes from strong football roots. His father, Jim, played at Clemson from 1978-81 before working in the NFL as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coordinator with the Washington Redskins, becoming the youngest full-time coach in the NFL at the time. He served as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Buffalo Bills from 1985-86 before becoming the owner of the Baltimore Colts/Stallions of the CFL. He relocated the team to Montreal where they became the Alouettes in 1996.
His brother, Justin, currently serves at the Director of Recruiting and Professional Football Liaison at Virginia. His uncles, Pete and George, played for Penn State and Temple respectively. And his grandfather, Leo, played running back for Maryland and the Bears.
