George Coles enters his second season as a member of the Catholic football coaching staff in 2025. Coles steps into the role of Offensive Coordinator after spending the 2024 season as the program's offensive line coach.Â
Coles helped mentor Offensive Tackle Ben Ciesielski to earn All-Landmark Second Team honors in 2024, the lone Cardinal to be named to the second team. He helped the Cardinals to a fourth straight season of .500 or better as Catholic went 5-5 with a 3-3 record in the Landmark Conference. Coles' offensive line helped pave the way for running back Daequan Harvin to break the program record for rushing yards in a game with 242 against Keystone.Â
A Virginia native, Coles joined the staff after one year as the Running Backs Coach at fellow Landmark Conference school, Wilkes University.Â
Coles helped the Colonels reach a Division III bowl game in 2023 while coaching a backfield group that featured All-Landmark First Team selection Elijah Jules. On top of coaching the running backs, Coles also assisted with the development of special teams scheme for Wilkes. While with the Colonels, Coles main recruiting areas were Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New York with some overlap into Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia.Â
Prior to joining the staff at Wilkes, Coles spent three years as the Offensive Line and Tight Ends Coach at Hoke County High School. He also spent time as an intern at Ferrum College during his senior year, working with the Offensive Line and Tight Ends.Â
Coles is a Ferrum College alum ('19) with a degree in Liberal Arts/Liberal Studies while minoring in Education, Psychology, and Sociology.Â
