Brandon Beech begins his eighth season on the Catholic University football staff and third as the defensive coordinator in 2025.

Beech has helped the Cardinals to the program's longest streak of a .500 or better record in over two decades as they posted a fourth straight season of 5-5 or better in 2024. 

Under Beech's leadership in 2024, the Cardinals allowed the least rushing yards in the Landmark Conference, allowing 1,504 in 10 games. Thew Cardinals finished third in the conference with 24 sacks and third in fumbles recovered with five. Catholic allowed 5.8 yards per play which ranked fourth in the Landmark. Sean Holt, Mason Stillwell, and Carson Henry were all named All-Landmark Conference Honorable Mention selections in 2024. 

In 2023, Catholic posted the second-lowest number of total yards allowed, giving up 3,733. The 2023 Cardinals were tied for second in the conference with 10 interceptions, taking one back for a touchdown. Michael Hopkins and Henry both finished in the top-10 in the conference in total tackles with 78 and 72 respectively while Henry led the conference with 14 tackles for loss. Stillwell was an All-Landmark First Team Defensive Back while Henry and Hopkins also earned all-conference honors. 

In 2022, Beech helped coach the Cardinals to a 6-5 overall record and a New England Bowl appearance. In 2022, Beech coached the offensive line for the second consecutive season. Beech's line helped protect the number one passing offense in the NEWMAC (264.1) in 2022 and featured an All-Conference tackle in Javier Oliver. 

Prior to his time as the Offensive Line Coach, Beech served as the Defensive Line Coach (2020-2021) and the Defensive Backs Coach (2018-2020). Beech also helped manage the Cardinals' strength and conditioning in 2019. During his time as Safeties coach in 2018, the Cardinals were one of the top statistical pass defenses in the country in passing yards allowed. 

Before coming on board at the Catholic University of America, Beech spent time at Dalton L. McMichael Sr. High School, serving as the defensive coordinator amongst various other roles throughout his tenure in 2017 and 2018. Four players signed on to play college football during his time with the program. 

After graduating from Benedict College in 2014, Beech stayed on as a Graduate Assistant coaching the defensive line for a short period of time before pursuing additional playing opportunities. 

Beech started his playing career in 2010 at Benedict after transferring in from Butler Community College. Beech played defensive end and linebacker at Benedict and racked up over 100 tackles, contributed 45 tackles for loss, and racked up 15 sacks. While at Benedict, he was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Recreation Club. 

In 2015, Beech pursued post-college football opportunities, making it through training camp cuts with the Tampa Bay Storm and the Columbus Lions of the Indoor/Arena Football League. 

Beech holds degrees in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation/Recreational Therapy and a Master's in Management.Â
