Catholic Women's Soccer Enters Regional Rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Catholic women's soccer team currently sits as eighth in Region V, it was announced today by the United Soccer Coaches in partnership with Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization for Coaches.

This past week, women's soccer defeated Bridgewater in a 2-1 Wednesday night. On Saturday, the Cardinals took on Widener and came away with a 1-0 win.

Junior Tessa Crossed recorded her first career goal against Bridgewater and tallied her second against Widener. Her performance earned her Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week honors. Katie Scully also tallied her first goal of the season in the midweek matchup.

The Cardinal defense has been a force to be reckoned with. Lauren Creamer and Madelyn Catania both played a game in goal for Catholic. Senior captains Alex Berish and Kelsie Price stepped into new roles as backline defenders.

After a midweek matchup on the road against Neumann, the Cardinals will return to Carlini Field on Saturday, September 19th for Senior Day. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. against Shenandoah.
