Maddie Pennisi and
Bella Reyes of the Catholic field hockey team were named to the 2026 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) DIII Watchlist, it was announced today. The two Cardinals are among 204 DIII student-athletes who have earned a spot on the watchlist.
The 2026 NFHCA Watchlist recognizes field hockey student-athletes who have demonstrated a high level of achievement and are considered among those with strong potential for NFHCA All-Region and All-American consideration this season. To be nominated for the 2026 NFHCA Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years (NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-American, All-Conference, Senior Nexus Championship selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, and/or U.S. National or International Team roster) and nominated by their NFHCA member coach.
Senior
Bella Reyes returns for the Cardinals after a standout junior campaign. The Catonsville, Md. native tied for first in the goals and assists categories during the 2025 season with four goals and three assists. She was one of just four players to start in all 16 games and received All-Landmark Second Team honors.
Sophomore
Maddie Pennisi had a strong debut season, appearing in 10 games, making nine starts. She made one assist and notched a defensive save during her freshman season, and was named to the All-Landmark Second Team alongside Reyees.
Catholic opens the 2026 season with a home contest against TCNJ on Wednesday, September 2. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
