WASHINGTON, D.C. – Catholic volleyball's new head coach
Patti Westenberg has announced the upcoming schedule for the 2026 regular season. The Cardinals finished 14-15 last season and advanced to the Landmark semifinals for the second consecutive season for the first time since 2012-13.
The 29-match slate features 20 non-conference matches to go along with the nine-game Landmark Conference schedule. The Cardinals will match up against seven teams that made the NCAA Tournament last season, including Landmark opponent Juniata. Two of Catholic's opponents for the season reached the Sweet 16 last year in Christopher Newport and Carnegie Mellon.
The season opens up for Catholic on the road against Hood on September 1 before heading to Glenside, Pa. for three matches on September 4 and 5 against Bard, Muhlenberg and Arcadia. The home opener for the Cardinals will come against Stevenson on September 8.
The stretch of non-conference play continues for the Cardinals on September 12 for a tri-match with Dickinson and Misericordia on the road. Catholic will then play four of five games at home as it plays host to Mary Washington (Sept. 16) and Gallaudet (Sept. 23) before the first home tri-match on September 26 against Lebanon Valley and Christopher Newport. The one road match during this stretch will be against Lynchburg on September 19.
Catholic hits the road to take on Gettysburg on September 30 before beginning Landmark Conference play at home against Elizabethtown on October 2. The Cardinals host a tri-match the next day that will feature Susquehanna and Randolph-Macon. The Cardinals will complete the four-game home stretch against Marymount (Va.) on October 7.
The Cardinals will play their first Landmark road matches on back-to-back days on October 9 and 10 against Wilkes and Moravian. Catholic will also face Hunter in a tri-match at Moravian before returning home for four straight home matches against Goucher (Oct. 13), Lycoming (Oct. 16), Juniata (Oct. 17) and Emory (Oct. 17), wrapping up the home games for 2026.
Catholic will take on Drew and Scranton on the road to finish off the Landmark slate on October 23 and 24. The team will also take on Marywood on October 24 before closing the regular season with a tri-match versus York (Pa.) and Carnegie Mellon on Nov. 7.
