Cardinals Cap Off Regular Season at Widener Final Qualifier

CHESTER, Pa. – The Catholic men's track team traveled to Widener University to compete in their Final Qualifier in hopes of competing top times to clinch an NCAA berth. 

Emmanuel Olarewaju kicked things off for the Cardinals in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.97. 

In the 100m prelims, Calvin Hernandez placed second with a time of 10.82. In the finals, he placed third with a time of 10.89. Romell Randolph ran 20.55.

In the 400m, Sean Owens logged a time of 49.86. Marco Indelicato ran 51.58 in the event.

Owens also competed in the 200m where he logged a time of 22.70. 

In the 800m, Peter Winter ran the current Division III 48th best time of 1:52.02. This personal best keeps him in the sixth best spot in the program record books. Kendrick DuPree ran 2:02.01. 

In the 1500m, Michael Brunet posted the current Division III 21st best time with 3:48.89. This personal best time moves him up the record books to second in the event. Brunet also ran in the 5000m with a time of 14:59.09, another personal best. This is the program's third best time. 

Tim Brown and Shane Waring both competed in the steeplechase, posting 9:46.21 and 9:55.02, respectively.

In the high jump, Quinn Brubaker reached 1.85m. In the triple jump, Nicholas Chang jumped 13.23m.

Christian Di Nicolantonio reached 4.86m in the pole vault. 

Up next, the Cardinals will wait and see if any of them earned the national nod to travel to the NCAA Championships. Selections will be released on Friday, May 15th.
