Manorek Earns Third Athlete of the Week Honor

TOWSON, Md. - Sophomore goalkeeper Colton Manorek of the Catholic men's lacrosse team has once again been selected as Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week, it was announced today. This is Manorek's third honor of the season, and third of his career. 

The Cardinals had one game this week, facing off against Landmark opponent Drew on Thursday, April 2. Manorek spent 53 minutes in goal, logging 10 saves on the day, his sixth game with 10 or more saves this season. The East Weymouth, Massachusetts native helped lead the Cardinal defense to a 17-6 win, allowing only five goals, scooping up three ground balls, and recording the win with a save percentage of .667.

Manorek has surpassed a major milestone of 100 saves this season, currently with 115. He averages 9.58 saves per game, holding an overall record of 8-4 this season. He has a save percentage of .575, currently second in the conference.

Earlier in the season, Manorek was named Defensive Athlete of the Week for two consecutive weeks, first on March 9, then again on March 16.

Catholic will be back in action on Wednesday, April 8 at 6 p.m. The Cardinals will continue Landmark play, hosting Elizabethtown on Carlini Field.
