Cardinals Find Multiple Record Book Entries at First Day of the Dalton Ebanks Invitational

FAIRFAX, Va. — The Catholic men's track and field team headed over to George Mason for the Dalton Ebanks Invitational. The Cardinals had stellar performances, highlighted by new entries into the record books.

Emmanuel Olarewaju set the tone early with a program third best in the 400m hurdles. The junior raced 54.95, the new Division III #26 in the event. Drew Madden competed in the 400m hurdles with his personal best time of 56.30. The freshman entered the record books with the fifth best time. Gabe Devaney ran 58.41. 

Peter Winter bested his previous program sixth best time in the 800m with his time 1:53.43. This places him as the new DIII #22 in the event and remains as the program sixth best time. David Stango recorded his own personal best time of 1:59.71. 

In the steeplechase, Tim Brown also added a personal best to the mix. The freshman logged 10:02.77. This is the new third best time in the Catholic record books. 

In the 5000m, Michael Brunet earned a new outdoor personal best time of 15:21.23. This places him as the fifth best in the program records. Joey Locke recorded a time of 15:41.90. Patrick Morris and Tim Sweeney finished back-to-back, 15:58.11 (PB) and 16:08.08 respectively. 

Benjamin Warr represented the Cardinals in the weight throw on the field side. He threw a distance of 33.47m. 

Up next, the Cardinals will return for day two of the Dalton Ebanks Invitational on Saturday, April 4th. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in Fairfax, Virginia.
