Women's Tennis Falls in Midday Match to Moravian

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic hosted Moravian on Friday for a mid-day match up against the Greyhounds. The Cardinals fell in the meeting after a tough battle, 4-1.

In doubles, the Cardinals battled hard against the Greyhounds. Mairead O'Hara and Ava Niggemeier won the first match for Catholic in a close contest on court three, winning 7-5. Shloka Tambat and Annie Nemoy fell in the one spot in a tough match up, 6-4. It all came down to court two, and Meaghan Laniewski and Marcela Pena were fighting to pull out the win. They ultimately fell to their Moravian opponents, 7-5.

Nemoy secured the first point for the Cardinals in the second singles spot. She faced Natalia Smith, beating her 5-2 before securing the victory by retirement. On court three, O'Hara battled Sydney Shifman, falling in a tight set one, 7-5. Shifman took the momentum into set two, winning 6-1.

Due to weather conditions, the match concluded with Moravian winning 4-1.
