WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic men's tennis hosted Moravian on Friday afternoon for another Landmark Conference match. The Cardinals fought hard, but fell to the Greyhounds 4-3.
In doubles, Catholic took the first win on court two with a 6-2 win from
Diego Romo and
James Earwood. Moravian followed with wins on courts one and three, securing the point to take an early advantage.
Lorenzo Neri won 6-1 in set one when his Greyhound competitor, Shayaan Farhad, retired, giving Catholic their first point. Romo secured the second point for the Cardinals, defeating Cris Calfat Jabra in straight sets on court three, 6-3, 6-2.
Flynn Hollinger had another standout day, battling back after losing set one to Gavin Labbadia, 6-3. Hollinger came back and won set two 6-2, forcing a third set. Hollinger took down Labbadia 6-3 in the third to earn a point for Catholic.
Despite the hard fought battle, the Cardinals fell to the Greyhounds 4-3.
Catholic will host its final match of the regular season on Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. The Cardinals will take on Scranton at the United States Naval Academy.
