Colton Manorek of the Catholic men's lacrosse team had a standout week in goal to earn his first Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week honors, it was announced today. Manorek is the first Cardinal to receive the recognition this season.
Manorek played a crucial role in goal on Wednesday, March 4 against St. Mary's (Md.) where he led the team to their first victory of the season over St. Mary's (Md.) Manorek picked up 11 saves in the game, holding the Seahawks to just four goals to secure the victory. In Saturday's match up against Washington College, the sophomore from East Weymouth, Mass. picked up 13 saves.
Manorek currently has 65 saves this season, averaging 13.0 saves per game with a save percentage of .560.
Catholic will be back in action against Bridgewater, Va. on Wednesday, March 11. The game is set to begin at 4 p.m. at The Stadium at the Jopson Athletic Complex.
