ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — The Catholic women's tennis team extended its win streak to three on Sunday afternoon, taking down Elizabethtown by a score of 7-0.
The Cardinals captured all three of the doubles matchups to take the doubles point to start off the match.
Ella Knox and
Meaghan Laniewski wrapped up first in the number three spot taking the set in six consecutive games.
Annie Nemoy and
Shloka Tambat played in the number one position and also won 6-1 to clinch the point.
Mairead O'Hara and
Ava Niggemeier also took their set by winning six consecutive games to finish off the sweep. Niggemeier reached the 50 career win milestone with the victory.
Catholic also won all six of the singles matchups to finish off a 7-0 win, all of which were finished in two sets. Knox wrapped up her match first, winning both sets by scores of 6-1 and 6-0. Nemoy took her match in the number two slot, winning 6-2 and 6-0, followed by Tambat in the number one spot as she won 6-2 in both sets to secure the win for the Cardinals.
O'Hara, Laniewski and Niggemeier were in the remaining spots and all also won their matches to complete the sweep. O'Hara won 6-1 and 6-0 to secure her 50th career win. Niggemeier won both sets by taking all six games and Laniewski won 6-0 and 6-2.
The Cardinals next match is against Frostburg on October 11 at the Dowd Family Tennis Courts.
