FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — The women's tennis team competed at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships over the weekend hosted by Mary Washington.

Annie Nemoy played in the second round in the championship doubles tournament and took on Sriya Krishnan and Erika Phanord from Haverford. The pairing picked up an 8-3 victory in the match to advance to the round of 16. It is the furthest that a Catholic pairing has advanced at ITA's.
Ava Niggemeier and
Mairead O'Hara competed in doubles in the B Doubles bracket and came away with a victory over St. Mary's (Md.) to move on to the second round. The duo won their first match six games to three.
O'Hara played in the B2 singles bracket as well and also picked up a first round victory in her singles match. She took on Lauren Lovejoy from St. Mary's and took the match eight games to one to move on to the round of 32.Â
Ella Knox played in the B3 singles bracket and went into a tiebreaking set against Olivia Geoghegan from Mary Washington. Knox took the tiebreaker seven games to four to pull out an 8-7 victory.Â
The Cardinals next team match will be against Frostburg State on Saturday, October 11 at the Dowd Family Tennis Courts.
