WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic Athletics recently welcomed
Mike Pampuch as the department's new Associate Head Athletic Trainer. Pampuch started his tenure at Catholic in late June.
"We're looking forward to bringing Mike's experience, passion, and leadership to our staff," said Head Athletic Trainer
Emily Condello. "He is stepping into a larger role and we can't wait to see the impact he'll make with our athletes and our team."
Pampuch comes to Catholic after spending nearly three years working with Christopher Newport University via Pivot Physical Therapy.
"I am beyond excited to join Catholic Athletics," said Pampuch. "I believe there is a strong community aspect within the department and I look forward to building within that community."
During his time working with CNU, Pampuch helped implement policies and procedures for emergencies and injury prevention for sporting events hosted at the university. He served as the preceptor for the Athletic Training Club and Athletic Training students, teaching, directing, and supervising introductory concepts and activities. Pampuch worked closely with the National Runner-Up women's basketball program and Sweet 16 volleyball team, providing daily care and rehab, strength & conditioning, and nutrition guidance.
Pampuch's other experience in the world of college athletics came via an internship with the University of Louisville football program in 2021, and clinical experience with Illinois State football and track & field, and Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer, track & field, and women's basketball.
Pampuch earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Illinois State in May of 2022.
